The way you start your day often sets the tone for the remaining part. Today, we are living in a heavily task-driven world. What you can accomplish within eight-nine hours will determine whether you rise in the ranks or capture a market segment. Fortunately, these tips for what to do in the morning can help. They don't just set the tone but they train your brain to work hard and stay in a zone of super-productivity. There are many more but let us take a look at these few.
1. A checklist
Before you ever login at work or get coffee, think about a few things you want to get done. Start prioritizing them before work even starts.
2. Pen down your entries.
Our brain needs written reminders. Productive people write in a journal in the morning. Write down your priorities for the day and your big successes from yesterday.
3. Self feedback.
Look over your notes and review the big challenges and the big wins; remind yourself about why something hasn't worked or why you did such an excellent job on a given task.
4. Plan it Plan your long-term goals but live in the moment.
Set your daily goals to kick-start the day with a bang. A productive day will automatically set the tune for the week.
5. Pick that loophole once a week and work on it.
That’s right! You need to evaluate what’s not working today. Pick one area that has been pending for long and is now becoming a hindrance to your short-term or long-term planned projects. It can be anything such as discussion with your management team, scheduling your social media posts, or that long held internal meeting, and make some progress on that area of improvement.
6. Stay focused by managing distraction
Distractions can be overwhelming, mainly because we can't address all of them. Stay resolute at work by managing distraction, drawing healthy boundaries, and eliminating opportunities for procrastination: Is it a phone that keeps buzzing? Constant on-demand work requests? Office noise? Pick one thing and fix the problem. It helps you concentrate and give you a sense of accomplishment and progress. Learning to overcome them is one of the best things you can do for yourself.
8. Give those few tasks the boot.
Every task is important on your to-do-list, though few of them require your immediate consideration. Your ability to stay focused is a worthwhile thing to cultivate and a critical factor in your success. Getting things done on time is imperative. Go ahead and jettison a few things that can wait. The benefit is that it creates a renewed focus on the things you really need to do.
9. Your guilty pleasure is important
Self-motivation should be the way. So, each morning, pick something that you really like—A nice read of your favourite blogger, ordering a new blend of coffee, going for a run--and make a plan to partake. It helps you focus on the now because you know there will be a reward later.
